Memorabilia Monday: Teargarden by Kaleidyscope, The Golden Obelisk
The first Teargarden by Kaleidyscope EP, Songs For A Sailor, consisted of a wooden box which housed a 7” vinyl with the bonus track “Teargarden Theme ”. The release also contained a CD with four songs and a hand-carved stone obelisk. A select 99 of the 10,000 wooden boxes sold had a ‘fool’s gold’ or pyrite obelisk with an alternate version of the "Teargarden Theme". Making yet another rare and highly collectible piece of memorabilia!

In general, collectors highly appreciate the existence of mis-pressings. One of the most notable are the colour mis-pressings of the CD album Mellon Collie And The Infinite Sadness, where the colours of CD1 (Dawn to Dusk) and CD2 (Twilight to Starlight) were switched. In 1998, Puff Daddy (Sean John Combs) created remixes for the songs, “Ava Adore” and “Perfect”. The “Ava Adore” remix was officially released as part of the 2014 Adore deluxe box set reissue. However, the “Perfect Puffy Remix” has yet to see an official label release, which makes this promo a highly sought after piece of memorabilia!
