Connie is a gorgeous, attentive, plus-sized 3 year old feline who was a bit overfed before arriving at PAWS Chicago. She would make the ideal addition to a household where she will be kept active and where making sure she stays on her kitty “weight watchers” routine is a priority! Since Connie enjoys the company of people so much, she would do best in a home where she won’t be left alone for long periods of time. Connie prefers to do things on her own terms—she is a cat, after all—and will need owners who respect her need to call the shots! Do you have room in your heart and home for this fun, feisty feline? Meet her today to find out if she’s the ‘purrrfect’ match for you!
Connie is part of PAWS Chicago’s Featured Five adoption program, designed to find homes for cats who have been at the shelter for a while, patiently waiting for loving homes. Not only will you receive a lifetime of love, but Featured Five adopters receive special adoption benefits!
As a benefit of each cat’s adoption, adopters will receive one year of:
· Free Merrick Pet Care cat food
· Free wellness care at PAWS Chicago’s Medical Center
· Additional medial support may be offered for cats with ongoing medical needs (to be determined on a case-by-case basis)
Connie, along with many other adorable dogs and cats, are available for adoption at the Lincoln Park PAWS Chicago Adoption Center, located at 1997 N. Clybourn Avenue. For more information call 773-935-PAWS or visit www.pawschicago.org.

On August 24th, 1992, Smashing Pumpkins released their first, and only, 10” vinyl single through Hut Recordings – a subsidiary of Virgin Records. An alternate version of “I Am One” appears on the initial Limited Potential 7” – released approximately two years earlier. The 10” vinyl features exclusive b-side tracks which were unavailable elsewhere at the time; namely, “Terrapin” and “Bullet Train to Osaka”. The single alone is intriguing for the exclusive tracks, however, it is also interesting as the front artwork displays the eyes of, presumably, two band members as they look through crescent moon masks. However, the identity of the people has never been corroborated, making this little mystery quite fascinating to many devoted Smashing Pumpkins fans. The reverse artwork also features a person donning a mask with an unnamed, white “kitty kat”, prominently displayed in the forefront. Will we ever know the identity of the masked individuals? Either way, this unique vinyl celebrates a 23 year-old birthday today, and is a wonderful piece of memorabilia and artwork for any collector or fan.

While waiting for its reissue, we return to the year 2000 when Machina, The Machines Of God was originally released. We know of a rather long list of promotional items and other Machina related memorabilia, there is however one item that stands out from that era.
Let's go to France, where there was a Machina promo which came in a ‘snakeskin’ envelope. The envelope came with the Machina CD album and an exclusive Machina booklet in French.
We have no clue of pressing numbers, let alone how many have survived in 15 years. It must be quite rare though, because we hardly see it on the auction sites. Yet another piece of memorabilia that continues to holds a high value!
"First I've heard of this!" - William Patrick Corgan

The Smashing Pumpkins latest album, Monuments To An Elegy, featured a physical promo CD single release of "Drum + Fife".
A rumored pressing of 500, the U.S. pressing featured the single released in a jewel case with a track length of 3:54. While the U.K. pressing was housed in a cardboard sleeve with a track time of 3:44.
The single's cover art features a young William Corgan playing a toy drum. Believed to be a 13 month old Corgan, the U.K. single states "And yes, that is Billy Corgan on the cover! Aged 5..."
A great promotional item for anyone's Smashing Pumpkins memorabilia collection!

Lilith is a social girl who enjoys nothing more than a good play session. This two-year-old kitty is looking for a home where she will get lots of playtime, otherwise she tends to get bored. Luckily, she adores feather toys and can be entertained for long periods of times with a feather wand. She also loves to play with other cats, and would do best with another active, playful cat or even a small dog. Lilith is affected by a rare condition which restricts the flow of blood to the heart. Lilith does not let her condition get her down and maintains a positive attitude and sweet, happy-go-lucky disposition! Although her heart is a bit different from most, it is still full of love to give and Lilith would love to share it with you.
Lilith, along with many other adorable dogs and cats, are available for adoption at the Lincoln Park PAWS Chicago Adoption Center, located at 1997 N. Clybourn Avenue. For more information call 773-935-PAWS or visit www.pawschicago.org.

The Smashing Pumpkins and Marilyn Manson are currently joining forces on The End Times Tour; bringing 25+ years of rock and roll history into multiple venues across North America. In the spirit of these two bands working together, we blow the dust from a soundtrack released in 1996 for the David Lynch film, Lost Highway. Although not directly collaborating, the two bands are respectively featured on the soundtrack, with Marilyn Manson contributing two songs and Billy Corgan submitting the song, “Eye”. The song was originally intended for Shaquille Oneal’s upcoming rap album, but the plans never worked out. Instead, we find this successful departure from normal guitar-driven melodies into electronica; an influence that would propel itself into the band’s next album, Adore. Aside from the official soundtrack, the only known release of this song is a promotional cassette tape. The cassette is an extremely rare piece of someone’s memorabilia collection!
